- What a picture
perfect day for racing in
Southern MN. Blue skies, a
light breeze, mid 70’s temp and it showed. The crowd was
absolutely awesome on the night and the drivers showed up in force
with 141 cars checking into the back gate on championship night at
the speedway.
Early in
the afternoon racing action commenced on the Button Buck Speedway
with the Junior division taking to the track for the Pepsi
Slingshots. Lucas Schott jumped out to the early lead with
Dustin Sorensen in second. Alex Williamson and Sydney Alberts
were side by side for sixth behind Jackson Koster. A caution
with four down saw a pile up on the restart. Parker Hale used
the restart to his advantage and quickly moved around Sorensen for
the second spot. Two laps after the restart Hale put a great
move on Schott and took over the lead. Brayde Faulhaber moved
past Sorensen late in the race to take home third behind Schott and
Hale. Lucas Schott took home the track title in the division.
